  1. If you are not on Twitter, join immediately and create a cool simple name (lock your name, company name, main product, brand, etc.)
  2. Put a picture of yourself up not some cartoon stuff (personalize your Twitter screen)
  3. Tweet some memorable stuff before you look for followers
  4. Manage your tweets with an application: twhirl.com, twitterfox plug-in, tweetdeck.com, etc.
  5. Tweet from your phone (twinkle.com)
  6. Use twummize.com to track who is tweeting about you or your company
  7. Use the “reply” button (don’t ignore people) 
  8. Connect with people through Direct Message and track trending (twitturyl.com and twitscoop.com)
  9. Have direct conversations with people (don’t let some application to automatically respond in your place)
