All ads you are planning on publishing MUST be about your potential clients. Not about you, your business, hobbies, likes and dislikes. This might come to your surprise but, besides you, nobody else cares about them.
Any prospective customer will always ask this: “WIIFM?” Translation: “What’s In It For Me?” The rest is just noise to them.
So how should an advertisement look like?

The world is full of descriptions and attempts to mold the definition of marketing, but so far I haven’t found a clear characterization of this escaping concept we face every day. To me – marketing is present in everything that we do on a daily basis; promise a surprise to your children to convince them to dress warm and – bang – you just did some marketing without even knowing it. Launch a new product and do whatever necessary to make the market react positive about it and you delivered yet another marketing punch.

Everything that we do, from the mundane to the most exciting has in some way a direct or indirect connection to the concept of marketing. Even now, as you read this article, you are unknowingly participating in my marketing efforts of promoting knowledge through this blog.

Think Before You Design

Designing good web pages is a very challenging process. That is in part due to the fluidity of the medium the design is constructed upon.
In other words, just because you want something to look a certain way doesn’t guarantee it will. When you design a brochure for print, you know that everyone has pretty much the same capacity of seeing the design as it was constructed.

Landing pages are the new direct marketing approach towards “getting” in front of your clients. Landing pages are where your clients are going to end up when they have clicked on an ad that you’ve placed and are usually contained within your web site.
Consider landing Pages as a “Swiss army knife”. They are useful in many ways: selling the exact product the client wants and thus employing a “sharp shooting” effect for your marketing efforts; educating the client and yourself about likes and dislikes with your service or product line; they give you adjustment levels on how to direct your overall marketing based on their popularity, etc.
