I was born in Romania and came to this country almost 20 years ago to find a better life. The dream of coming to America has been permanent and painful in the minds of our family members. The communist authorities tortured my grandfather for his “capitalistic dreams” and my father was jailed for “Reactionary and incendiary views against the socialist heaven of postwar Romania”. I was the first one to make it in the free society and be the living proof of the realization of that dream.

Since half my life was spent in Romania, I am fully bilingual, but also speak French and I understand some Italian. I think. OK – maybe sometimes.

I studied in Bucharest – Romania, and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science & Statistical Methods from the Cybernetics Academy, with emphasis on computers and cybernetic processes.

Most of my years I have been active in several business ventures, including Photography, Publishing, Technology Consultant, Web Design and SEO Expert with the exception of about 9 years when I worked as an IT Director for a Fortune 500 company in Detroit, Michigan.

In 1992 I started on the Internet, when the publishing company I was working with saw the tremendous potential of this technology and invested heavily in implementing and promoting software platforms for the web.

For over 8 years, I have been active as an Internet Business Consultant, started from scratch, personally researching, testing and participating in everything I recommend to my clients.

Over the years in the business and being an entrepreneur for all my professional life, both offline and online, I gathered so much experience, skills, tricks and routines on top of my technical background that I decided to help netpreneurs to succeed in their online home business.

I currently live in Southern California, not far from NBC Studios, having moved here from Michigan where I have spent the majority of my time in America.

I started this blog on September 16th, 2009 and continue to write articles and promote my design and marketing company – Design by Satori.

When I’m not travelling, working, surfing the net, or painting I can be found spending quality time with my family. I also love photography and design, which I do every time I have a chance.

Here are 3 things not too many people know about me:

1. I have 2 middle names but they couldn’t fit on my driver’s license so the DMV had to drop one;
2. I have been married twice – with Andreea (the good looking one on the right) because…well because life doesn’t always work the way we want
3. I always wanted to write my own book and someday I will.

I came to America 20 years ago with just $12 in my pocket, full of hopes and dreams of riches.

Young and ambitious, I did what everybody else advised me to do – work, go to school, get a good paying job and you will live the American Dream. I wanted to be one of them so bad I could taste it, but I knew that true wealth comes from working for yourself and not selling your time to someone else.

So I start coming up with ideas and during the next 5 years I opened 3 businesses. They were all successful but they didn’t really inspire me, or allowing enough time off to enjoy my family. In fact it did the opposite – long hours, chasing dreams, banks and loans, staff problems constantly looking for people to buy my services.

I was back in the rat race, this time of my own doing. Something was wrong. Really, really wrong. Needless to say, I am not doing those businesses anymore, because every time I relied upon a partner, or a faulty marketing plan. I always thought you have to have an office, a receptionist, phones and computers and a service or a product to start your own business. That was true 10 years ago. Now-a-days there are more and more internet millionaires who don’t have a brick and mortar place, nor staff or receptionists.
